Two-Minute Relaxation Break: How to breathe more easily

Try this two-minute mindfulness relaxation break anywhere and at any time. Standing in the butchers or sitting in the bathroom at work.  It can be done in the car before you go to work or coming home from work but not while driving. Anywhere you can get two minutes for yourself.

The technique is simple, easy to use and to remember. Eyes open or closed, mouth closed, or open just a little with your lips parted breathe in and out through your nose. Focus on your breathing. Visualise the breath flowing in and out, maybe as a colour or using a word.

Breathe as deeply as is comfortable, from the lower part of your lungs rather than shallow breathing from the top. All you have to do is to concentrate on your breathing, slowly   ‘in’ and ‘out.’ Try this throughout your day.

When you breathe all you have to do is concentrating on your breath. Do this breathing as often as you can, by seizing those odd moments in your day to give your mind and body a much needed break. You will be surprised at the rejuvenating power of the breath and the relaxation of your mind will help to de-stress you, and breathe more easily. This is also a great way to help you relax to go to sleep,
